Die-hard enthusiasts of the brand are beaming as Winnebago Industries recently unveiled one of its newest creations - the Travato Class B Motorhome.
So What Makes it Special?
Coincidentally, the Travato happens to be the first Class B motorhome which is being offered with Fiat's Ducato chassis. It has a fuel economy of 15-18 mpg and could end up being a real game changer. Agile and stylish, the Travato is joining the Winnebago Touring Coach models. At 20 feet long, the ProMaster based Travato is a first class RV experience with outstanding space efficiency, numerous and practical features, and unparalleled specifications.
The Travato brings to the table the Ram ProMaster chassis with a towing capacity of 5100 pounds. That includes a 9350 pound vehicle weight rating and a 4400 pound payload. It will come with a 3.6 liter, 280 hp Pentastar V-6 engine or a 3.0 I-4 174 hp EcoDiesel engine. The EcoDiesel delivers torque of 295 pounds per foot at only 1400 rpm. The Penastar will come with peak torque of 260 pounds per foot. Both promise incredible fuel efficiency. Those engines are managed with a six speed manual and a six speed automatic transmission, respectively.
What Everyone is Saying About the Travato...
Early admirers are saying it rivals the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter models. That model has been adapted by U.S. and Canadian auto manufacturers like RoadTrek, Leisure Travel Vans, Airstream, and, yes, Winnebago itself. Only they credit the Travato as being more accessible with a lower height. That makes it easier to step into due to its front drive layout. The reinforced chassis offers a platform of five lengths, four wheelbases and over 200 versions. To date, the Ducato chassis is probably one of the most utilized, found in two of every three RVs in Europe.
From the drawing board to the assembly line to the showroom, Winnebago always had its vision for the Travato. Style, value and living well were definitely in mind. It has maximum versatility and space efficiency. It was engineered with a rear door for storing everything you'd need for your adventure. It also has a rear bed that flips up for maximized space and a split dinette. The motorhome is well designed with great features like LED calling lights, touch screen navigation, and swivel seats.
Easy to Service
Besides its economy and versatility, Winnebago customers will find repairs and service a snap as many brands are increasing the number of dealers authorized to service not just the Travato, but other ProMaster designed motorhomes. That's only going to make this affordable Class B Motorhome more appealing.
With the Travato joining the Winnebago and Itasca, the Winnebago Touring Coach line continues its aggressive push for industry firsts.
